Obsidian Book

An enjoyable game which played without glitches. The plot is a bit sketchy at times, but over all a nice instalment of the Amaranthine Voyage series.

Good game

The puzzles sometimes where hard to solve, which made the game better.

WAS A GOOD GAME

Its been 20 mins and I cant get that STUPID FIRE IN NEW YORK OUT!!!!! What the hell is up with that???? PLEASE FIX THIS..... I cant move on

Good until the fire scene

Im stuck at the fire too!!!!! Cant get the bottom one out. We got the idea big fish, just put the darn fire out puleeese!

Not Bad, Not great

Not impressed.

Obsidian Book

I enjoyed this game. The graphics were nice and some of the mini games were hard to play which made the game more difficult. The fire was very hard to put out but eventually it goes out. Overall not bad

Very good!

Putting the fire out is tricky, but watch where the stream of water is landing. It is very doable. Enjoyed it, even when it was a little hard to tell who was friend and who was enemy once or twice.

I loved this one

Very entertaining. Didnt want to stop playing!

A.V. The Obsidian Book - another spectacular trip!

Eipix did a beautiful job on this one (Each of the series plays as a stand alone). You are searching for a lost professor who was studying Harmonium a mysterious and powerful substance. You find the professor only for her to be kidnapped by another Dr - one with a gun and a master plan for power. Transporting indicated map labeled inventory, no diary no custom difficulty but gorgeous artwork. Collecting books in scenes. If you enjoy the series you will be happy with this new addition. If new to the AV I think you will very much enjoy this lovely introduction. Verdict: buy and enjoy!

Bon Voyage! "Harmonium" is Harmonious!

A snowy game for the end of the winter season! The graphics are beautiful and clear with many vibrant, neon, and pastel-like colors accentuating a sci-fi, fantasy oriented environment. The artwork contains wintry scenes as you sledge through ruins of temples and statues creating a sort of mysterious vibe. You use a Harmonium Collector to give you special powers, such as mending broken objects; you charge it by adding crystals. There are three modes of difficulty, but there is no option to customize your settings. The inventory is labeled, interactive, and puzzle like; items will require assembly. The fast teleport map, located through the menu, indicates tasks and/or available actions if applicable; locations are labeled on the map as well. There is no journal, but you read snippets of info as you progress. There is no back button as well. The HOS are varied and interactive. Some are completed in sequence, such as finding quantities of two objects to get two sole objects; using the objects to perform an action; then opening up a word list. Another type is our beloved "find and use." The puzzles are fun and relative to the storyline. You will climb an ice cliff with pick axes while moving around and matching pairs of symbols and objects to advance. You collect master scholar books in the locations; they can be well blended into the environment. You have a book symbol to the right of your inventory bar to show if youve collected one. The extras include a souvenir room, collectibles, and replays. I really enjoyed this game; it ran smooth and glitch free. I took off a star mainly because of a lack of customized settings, but I wish it had a journal to read the story. Worth the play!

The Obsidian Book

Awesome, incredible, beautiful and challenging as always. Thank you.

This is not an Amarynthine Voyage game!

In yet another bait and switch move, Big Fish has promoted (with a big discount) an old game marketed under a wonderful franchise. The original franchise is a beautifully drawn, creatively designed piece of art that represents the state of the art of game design. This is an old HOS game, complete with messages revealed on cassette tapes, HOS puzzles that are tedious and filled with "fill in the shape" screens, a slow moving plot. The crime is to try to fool Big Fish customers, many who, like me, have spent hundreds of dollars on their games. Shame on you, BF!!!

Very entertaining

Enjoyed the story and HOPs.

More frustrating than fun

No map and a lame hint button. A hint button that gives you nothing but "move along" is NOT a hint button. Spent way too long just trying to figure out the next move. Tapping on an item gives no clue as to what is needed or missing. Just tiresome

Wonderful Game

This is another wonderful game, I love this company and I am rarely disappointed. Someone gave it a low rating because they said it was old and mentioned a cassette recorder. If you read the information at the start the game takes place in 1953 the recording device makes sense to me. This game is a very recent release first on the BF website for PC and now on IOS. Get it now!

Great game so far!

Really good game so far, its different and unique.

Okay

Pretty but a lot of illogical HOs and items that had no relationship to what it was eventually used for. Became frustrating. I didnt bother with the bonus game since I was somewhat turned off by then.

Just ok 〰

Disappointed with this one.. just not as good as previous games in the Amaranthine series. Story was boring, characters dull, gameplay tedious and predictable. Nice Eipix graphics and no glitches. They could have wrapped this one up in an hour..but then wed complain about a short game lol. Hope the next one is more enjoyable.

It is a great game

As all of Big Fish games I enjoyed the graphics and story line. I have approximately 250 plus games and I have enjoyed them all.

Wonderful, Exciting Game

Loved the various HOP, beautiful graphics, teleporting Hint button, rapid transitions between scenes. Didnt want the game to end!
